by Mary J. Howell

I have myself walked it and have read many books about it, but this is the first novel that I have read that is set on the Camino de Santiago.
I enjoyed the read - the story about a very English Rosemary who grew up in a'parish where they went to mass week after week without ever getting to know anyone' and the whole new world of intriguing strangers she meets after she decides (for no good reason) to undertake the 500 mile long trek along the Camino. There is angry young Stefan, the courteous Jose Luis, the world-wise Dominique and of course the enigmatic Murielle. For those who have themselves walked the Way, mar Howell's novel will bring back memories - the church at Eunate, the hostel at Santo Domingo, the metal bridge at Ponferrada and bunk beds in albergues.
I can recommend Murielle's Angel. Read it - and you too may, like Rosemary, be able to see the world anew.
